Following the record-shattering global success of Marvel’s Black Panther, late actor Chadwick Boseman hosted Saturday Night Live and gave fans a brilliant crossover nobody saw coming.Suited up in full royal Wakandan garb, Boseman reprised his role as King T’Challa to play a contestant on SNL’s recurring favorite “Black Jeopardy,” hosted by Kenan Thompson’s pitch-perfect character, Darnell Hayes.
Competing alongside fellow contestants Shanice (Leslie Jones) and Rashad (Chris Redd), T’Challa brought his dignified, noble Wakandan mindset straight into the world of African-American game show humor—and the result was instant comedy history!
The hilarious culture clash began immediately as T’Challa tried to navigate categories like “Fid’na,” “Aw Hell Naw,” and “White People.”When asked why a cable bill would be in a grandmother’s name, T’Challa answered with royal reverence: “What is, to honor her as the foundation of the family?”—forcing Darnell to reply, “That’s really nice. It’s wrong, but it’s really nice!”
Later, when asked how to respond to police asking about neighborhood robberies, T’Challa innocently proclaimed that he would assist the officers because “our ministers of law enforcement are only here to protect us,” leaving host Darnell Hayes utterly stunned by Wakanda’s lack of American-style police tension.
However, the sketch reached absolute viral peak when T’Challa took on the “White People” category for $400.Faced with the scenario of a white coworker named Karen bringing her potato salad to a cookout, T’Challa reasoned out the situation with analytical brilliance:”Karen is Caucasian, right? And she has used raisins in place of sugar… Aw hell naw, Karen! Keep your bland-ass potato salad to yourself!”
The studio audience erupted into cheers as T’Challa celebrated his victory with pure Wakandan pride!
